This has been an amazing week in America. The United States Supreme Court upheld free speech in its ruling in the matter of a challenge to McCain-Feingold. On Tuesday of this week, voters surprised the Democratic Party by electing Republican Scott Brown to fill the Massachusetts Senate seat left vacant with the death of Ted Kennedy in August of 2009.
Hello, what planet has she been living on since the founding of Al-Qaeda in1988? Or for that matter, just since September 11, 2001. The use of suicide bombers is part of their normal operations. It makes you wonder what the vetting process consisted of on her being selected and appointed to the position of head of the agency charged with protecting our nation from such attacks. Perhaps her answer on whether she was qualified for the position was, “no but I did stay at a Holiday Inn once.”
However, the health care vote has challenged my thinking and caused me to dig deeper into the danger of these actions and the remedy to them. I believe the gauntlet has been thrown down by those who are supposed to represent us. They have challenged us to engage in a contest for liberty in America. If we fail to take up the gauntlet they will continue to take on powers that are not theirs to exercise and our liberties will be lost.
Here we go again…. The 60’s radicals that had a strategy of reducing population in the 70’s have re-surfaced with a green face. Check out what’s going on in Copenhagen this week.
When the ‘population bomb’ that the lefty-elite noodle-heads warned us about didn’t destroy the planet or the food supply, they had to stop talking about it. Back in the early 70’s, we were warned that our current increase in world population was unsustainable, and we had to stop having more children.
So….. How is it that Obamacare was written by a convict while in prison? BigGovernment.com reported today that the plan to press through a national healthcare bill whether the voters want it or not is detailed in a book written by Robert Creamer, husband of Congresswoman Schakowsky of Illinois.
It is time to stress the importance of the rights and protections to be exercised by the several sovereign States afforded to these United States of America under the Tenth Amendment.
The ‘Going Rogue’ book tour is in full swing across America, and Sarah Palin is surging across middle America. The broken and bitter once main-stream media is already talking down her efforts, as though she were running a political campaign, about how she travels, about where she stays, and even the venues that she chooses to meet her fans.
I am disappointed with the state of my Christian family in America. The fruit of the 1950’s-era prohibition of tax-exempt status for churches who engage in political activity has grown to maturity. After decades of being told they cannot address political issues and causes, many churches have gone silent on the great moral issues of the day.
As a consequence, many an average Christian has gone silent on the great moral issues of the day. With it not taught and modeled in out houses of worship, a lot of modern-day disciples are deaf and dumb in the face of PC encroachment. What used to be an understood stance by the Church at large is now called into question.
Servants of the People or Tyrants
Today the debate over health care reform dominates the national news and conversations all across America. In most polls the American people reject the plan for government-run healthcare. Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem to really matter to the Obama Administration or the leadership of the House or Senate.
In the end the democratically controlled Congress seems hell-bent on passing what the people say they do not want. They are ignoring the outcry of the people and their outrage simply to pursue a policy which will cause one of the biggest tax increases in history. Are these elected officials functioning as elected servants of the people or have they become tyrants?
