Videos: Brit’s On The Subprime Market Crisis And What Caused Our Crisis?

johnsblogs42

I found this on YouTube, completely by accident, and I’m ever so glad I did. These two British gents have the subprime market crisis nailed down pat. The video was uploaded by user kerviel88888 and is titled Bird and Fortune - Subprime Crisis. The portrayers in the mock interview are John Bird and John Fortune (referred to as the Long John’s) on The Last Laugh. It’s complete Satire, and more so, completely accurate as to how the ’subprime’ market works.

The video winds down with, exactly how it ends up “affecting” you and me. Well, not me really. I dumped my stocks, 401k’s, etc., years ago. But my friends mom (as well as many others have I’m sure) lost several thousands from the Lehman and Bear/Sterns debacles. How about you?

Enjoy.

Obama Ayers Money Ties

purplepeoplevote

Some may wonder why bring up William Ayers now? Hasn’t this already been addressed? No, it hasn’t. Last week Stanley Kurtz of the National Review wrote an article entitled Obama’s Challenge that details Senator Obama’s connection to William Ayers as much more than a passing aquaintance. Obama was essentially William Ayer’s money man on his foundation Chicago Annenberg Foundation. The full article is definitely worth a read, and below are excerpts.

The partnership between Ayers and Obama is about much more than the number of occasions on which the two were recorded together in the same room. As CAC board chair, Obama was essentially authorizing the funding of Ayers’s own educational projects, and the projects of Ayers’s radical allies. And especially in CAC’s first year, Ayers was largely in charge of the process. One of CAC’s own evaluations notes that during 1995, CAC was a “Founder-Led Foundation.” That is, Ayers was not merely an ex officio board member that year, but as the key founder and guiding spirit of CAC, he was effectively running the show…

…So when CAC’s own evaluators call 1995 the period of the “Founder-Led Foundation,” they are essentially saying that, in 1995, Ayers was the most powerful individual at CAC. The Obama campaign treats that suggestion as “absurd,” yet it is effectively made by CAC’s own evaluators. This needs to be kept in mind when considering the Obama campaign’s minimization of the Ayers-Obama connection that year…

…While the appearance of self-dealing receded after CAC’s first year, the reality may still have been in place. Evaluators, both internal and external, have criticized CAC for over-committing its funds in 1995, and also for doing far too little to demand accountability from grant recipients, very much including the initial batch. Many of the initial grantees continued to receive funds for years. Evaluators consistently note the lack of flexibility in grants, and complain that the huge 1995 commitments, with relatively few changes in follow-on years, significantly undercut CAC’s impact and effectiveness…

…The Chicago Annenberg Challenge stands as Barack Obama’s most important executive experience to date. By its own account, CAC was a largely a failure. And a series of critical evaluations point to reasons for that failure, including a poor strategy, to which the foundation over-committed in 1995, and over-reliance on community organizers with insufficient education expertise. The failure of CAC thus raises entirely legitimate questions, both about Obama’s competence, his alliances with radical community organizers, and about Ayers’s continuing influence over CAC and its board, headed by Obama. Above all, by continuing to fund Ayers’s personal projects, and those of his political-educational allies, Obama was lending moral and material support to Ayers’s profoundly radical efforts. Ayers’s terrorist history aside, that makes the Ayers-Obama relationship a perfectly legitimate issue in this campaign.

The radicalism Ayers wanted in the classroom is also discussed in the article The Bomber as School Reformer

As I have shown in previous articles in City Journal, Ayers’s school reform agenda focuses almost exclusively on the idea of teaching for “social justice” in the classroom. This has nothing to do with the social-justice ideals of the Sermon on the Mount or Martin Luther King’s “I Have a Dream” speech. Rather, Ayers and his education school comrades are explicit about the need to indoctrinate public school children with the belief that America is a racist, militarist country and that the capitalist system is inherently unfair and oppressive. As a leader of this growing “reform” movement, Ayers was recently elected vice president for curriculum of the American Education Research Association, the nation’s largest organization of ed school professors and researchers.

What Happened To Global Warming: Doom And Gloom Goes ‘Back Of The Bus’

johnsblogs42

I know I can’t be the only person who has noticed lately, the more or less extreme failure for there to be any reports on Global Warming as of late. I mean what happened to all the “it’ll be the end of the world as we know it!” stuff we were being force fed by the (fair and balanced) media on a daily basis? Exactly how did Global whining, just simply cease to exist? Did Mother Nature just decide one day to halt the doom and gloom forecast in its tracks? Or has enough of America essentially had enough of the crap?

Doom and gloom, as it were, seems to have taken a back seat to issues that actually affect Americans.

Could it be, just maybe, that it never really was an issue in the first place? Regardless of the hype. And that perhaps real, genuine crisis’ like the current financial meltdown, actually merit our attention? And people DID in fact pay attention to their finances, and what the government was doing with it.

Biden Letter Says, “It’s Getting Ugly.” This Schoolyard Bully Should Know

Winged Hussar 1683

Biden “Nifongs” innocent man’s reputation, then complains about “smears”
We received the following unsolicited fundraising letter from the Obama/Biden campaign. Given Biden’s own documented conduct–from his Senate Web site and not from any Republicans or PUMAs–he has about as much right as disgraced prosecutor Mike Nifong has to talk about lies and smears.

The McCain campaign is on the ropes, and sadly it’s no surprise they’re responding with attacks and outright lies.

I’ve heard some pretty unspeakable things in the past few days — deeply offensive smears that we’ll hear over and over again until Election Day.

John McCain and Governor Palin are setting a new low in presidential politics with their dishonorable campaign.

We have seen some pretty unspeakable things on Mr. Biden’s Senate Web site. We refer specifically to a knowingly false accusation of homicide while driving drunk, which would automatically be libel if its target were alive to defend his reputation in court. Since no such recourse is available to the man’s family, though, Mr. Biden is free to use his public visibility and his Senate Web site to wreak emotional distress on the man’s innocent family. Muslim Brotherhood speaker appears at uc-irvine

gary fouse

Today, Ibrahim Al-Houdaiby, a spokesman for the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt, appeared at UCI. He was invited to UCI by the Center for Research on International and Global Studies and the History Department. His topic was Religion and Democracy in the Middle East. Al Houdaiby portrays himself-and the Muslim Brotherhood as moderate and seeking to establish understanding between Islam and the West. They are opponents of the current Egyptian Government. The event took place as part of a class by Professor Mark LeVIne, a Middle East expert who is considered sympathetic to the Palestinian cause. (His critics consider him anti-Israel.) Members of the public were invited to attend the talk and the question and answer session. Aside from the students in the class, most of the attendees were Muslim students with a handful of Jewish members from the community. There were no incidents or heated exchanges.

Prior to the event, the Brotherhood’s website, Ikhwan Web.com, posted an article describing opposition to the appearance. The article linked to a Frontpage.com article. (Al-Houdaiby is a member of the Ikhwan Board.)

Due to my class commitments, I arrived about 30 minutes late, and shortly before the conclusion of Al-Houdaiby’s remarks. I was able to attend the Q&A, however. My question was one of the last because Dr LeVine wanted to give his students the chance to ask questions first in the limited time.

I would have liked to claim that I was the only skunk at the garden party, but a few students voiced skepticism about the Brotherhood in their questions about women’s rights, the alleged role of the Brotherhood in the assassination of Anwar Sadat and other issues. One young lady described herself as a Coptic Christian and voiced concern about their rights in a Muslim society. (Coptic Christians are a religious minority in Egypt.)Al-Houdaiby denied any Brotherhood invovement in the Sadat assassination and tried to reassure the Coptic lady about the situation in Egypt.
He insisted that the Brotherhood seeks democracy in Egypt.

While Al-Houdaiby speaks fluent English, he tends to speak quite fast and gives lengthy answers that tend to ramble, so (at least for me), it is difficult to follow his monologue. In his statements, Al-Houdaibi insisted that the Brotherhood renounces violence, condemned 9-11 and only seeks understanding with the West.

When I was called upon, I explained that I had arrived late and may have missed remarks that would pertain to my question, which was related to a Muslim Brotherhood memo dated May 22, 1991. I was holding a copy of the memo and passed English and Arabic copies up front for Mr Al-Houdaiby and Dr LeVine.

I digress at this point to explain this memo to the reader. The memo in question is entitled: An Explanatory Memorandum on the General Strategic Goal for the Group in North America-5/22/1991. It was written by Mohamed Akram and consists of 18 pages in English. It is addressed to several Muslim groups in North America. This document is stamped, “US v HLF (Homeland Foundation) and bears prosecution exhibit number 003-0085, which identifies it as a government exhibit in the the Homeland Foundation prosecution. It is now in the public venue.

I directed Mr Al-Houdaiby’s attention to page 7 of the document, section 4, which is entitled: “Understanding the Role of the Muslim Brother in North America”. I then read aloud the passage, which follows below:

“The process of settlement is a ‘Civilization-Jihadist Process’ with all the word means. The Ikhwan must understand that their work in America is a kind of grand Jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within and ’sabotaging’ its miserable house by their hands and the hands of the believers so that it is eliminated and God’s religion is made victorious over all religions. Without this level of understanding, we are not up to this challenge and have not prepared ourselves for Jihad yet. It is a Muslim’s destiny to perform Jihad and work wherever he is and wherever he lands until the final hour comes, and there is no escape from that destiny except for those who chose to slack. But, would the slackers and the Mujahedeen be equal”.

I then asked Al-Houdaibi to comment and asked if this is the position of the Muslim Brotherhood.

Al-Houdaiby expressed wonderment at where I had obtained the document, declared it false and stated that it had already been revealed to be false adding that there is no Muslim Brotherhood in the US. He went on to state that it did not reflect the position of the Brotherhood and was against the words of the Brotherhood founder, Hasan Al-Banna. I then followed up by asking if one of the founding principles of the Brotherhood was the imposition of Islam worldwide under Shariah law. This he denied. I then pinned him down by asking if it was his answer to me that the document was a forgery, reminding him that it was a prosecution exhibit used in the above-mentioned trial. He insisted the document was false.

(I should add that I am paraphrasing his answers as I did not record them and I am writing from memory.)

At this point, LeVine suggested that since time was short, perhaps I could chat with Al-Houdaiby later, and he could point out in the Ikhwan website the document was refuted. I mentioned that I needed to rush off (since I had to take my mother to the doctor.) I then left at the conclusion of the talk while LeVine’s class resumed. Al-Houdaibi was scheduled to meet informally with students later in the afternoon. I had no further exchange with him.

Was I satisfied with Al-Houdaibi’s answer? No. I don’t see how he could look briefly at the document as I read one paragraph and conclude that the document was fake. Of course, I would have liked to delve further, but in these forums, you can’t hog the floor. I will check out Ikhwan in the coming days to see if this document is addressed.

If anyone is interested in reading the entire document (in Arabic or English), it can be found at:

ACORN Fraud

Stix1972 (R-IL) (VRWC)

More voter fraud from ACORN.   The Democrats are trying to steal the elections with fraud.  This has been going on for years and has been swept under the rug.   They need to shut down ACORN and Project Vote.  This is not voter disenfranchising, this is to have free and fair elections.  This should never be tolerated and those that are involves should be thrown in jail and have their voting rights taken away.  Enough is enough.  This is getting to be a theme every year.  For the past 3 or 4 Presidential votes, ACORN has been caught filing false voter registrations.   And to say that it is not their fault is preposterous, ignorance is not a defense against the law.

Transcript for my 5 Minutes!

This is Mr. Chad T. Everson, your Teddy Bear and glorified
custodian of the fight my great grandfather, E. W. Everson took on against
Socialism to regain control of his beloved Republican party Where his IVA
recalled the first Governor in American History. This Great American story has
inspired this Grizzly Groundswell!

  • Although in power, The
moderate Old Guard faction of the Grand Old Party is abundantly
overstocked in Politicians and desperately bankrupt of Leaders.
  •  This is the essence of why they betrayed
the American Citizen and Tax Payer Choosing Socialism over Freedom and
    Liberty  in this $700 Billion
Bailout just to get a political football off the front pages of the Lame
Stream Media in a tight election cycle and curb the momentum of the
conservative Republican movement that embraces the Republican free market
    party platform.
  • In America we have the
    freedom to fail.    In those
failures, true greatness and Leaders are thrust into realizing great
opportunity and continue to get up, dust themselves off and get busy
    building and attaining  the
American Dream reigniting that shining city on the hill.
  • Those that
    seek public office

are one of two things, either they are
Leaders or they are Politicians.  Only a handful of  great Americans are both.
  • Leadership is the human
ability to point in a direction and motivate others to follow and
    accomplish that  goal.
  • Politicians are cunning and
artful in the science of Government and devoted to their own advancement
    in public office.
  • Here we have two strategies
that are utilized today in our American Political Parties.
  • Today, the old guard of the
Republican Party in the absence of true leadership with no firm
foundation of platform principles has embraced and promotes the
    politician over the Leader.
  • You see, Politicians are
easily led and corrupted with the promise of power and their thirst to
advance themselves within the structure of the Party politic.
  • Often, advancement of
Politicians is not upon character, integrity, talent, worth and lifting
up of the neighbor and colleague, but rather less moral scheming and
    tearing down of their neighbor.
  • Politicians succumb to the
seductive deception of socialism every time they can attain even a
crumb of political advantage from breaking with their parties platform
to the frustration and disdain of party membership.
  • Leaders
work on a whole other plane.

  • Leaders are
    difficult.  They can not be
    corrupted easily.  They are not
led by their own vanity and often find themselves thrust into
    power.  Often, true leaders step
into leadership out of need or calling.
  • In a group of desperate
combatants, the leader is found by following the eyes of the members
as they will often rest on one individual.  It is the character of that
individual to step up into that role when eyes can not be diverted to
    another.
  • Leaders are unable to
give in to the seductive deception of Socialism and adhere to party
platforms even at the cost of personal political advantage.
  • Leaders put talented
colleagues in positions that showcase their talent and worth and will
    bring about success.   lifting
up their neighbor and colleague to positions and opportunities that
may even exceed their own fame and political office to attain the goal
    and secure the victory.
  • Leadership is a selfless
    endeavor.
  • The role of Statesman,
very few politicians have the character to embody.
  • If a party structure is so
corrupted by politicians rather then leaders there is little hope of
success and victory against any opponent, thus leading to even more
politicians being drawn to the organization as opportunists.  This I feel has been very evident in
the DNC and is becoming more prevalent in the RNC as the GOP’s  moderate Old Guard desperately
attempts to destroy the current conservative Republican faction at the
cost of all of our futures.
  •  If there is a fundamental shift in the
    Republican Party

it is found in the Republicans house freshmen who “GOT GRIZZLY”
and all voted under great duress, against Socialism and against this $700
billion dollar bailout so infested with earmarks utilized to buy corrupted
    politicians votes.
  • 82% of the retiring
Republican Representatives voted for the bailout.
  • It is refreshing and
hopeful that true leadership is being exhibited against the failed
    Old Guard
    moderate Politician
    .
  • There are Leaders in the
Republican Party as a whole, but the politicians infesting our party,
co-opting with the DNC to choose Socialism instead of Freedom and
Liberty must be chased out of our government and beloved institutions.
  •  In Closing, American Mothers and Fathers, raise your children to be leaders lifting up their neighbors and I pray
you never, ever allow them to be found only mere politicians.

Make Sure you listen again and again and Vote for Chad Everson so I can represent the Grizzly Groundswell on Friday from the AFP Summit in Washington, DC!

Here is some more associations that tarnish Obama. I do not think that Obam knows exactly what all is going on in Kenya and what his cousin is doing in Kena also.  But to go and campaign for a Communist that is also Islamists is not what I call a  smartmove by Obama.   He hadto know that someone was going to look into his little trip to Kenya on tax payers money.

Here is a video of who Raila Odinga and what his relationship is to Obama, and what Obama did on tax payers dollars.

Kenya detains Corsi during Obama probe
Officials scuttle WND reporter’s news conference on investigation

Posted: October 07, 2008

© 2008 WorldNetDaily

NAIROBI, Kenya – The government of Kenya is holding WND senior staff reporter Jerome Corsi in custody at immigration headquarters after police picked him up at his hotel just prior to a scheduled news conference in which he planned to announce the findings of his investigation into Barack Obama’s connections in the country.

Corsi, the author of the No. 1 best-selling book “The Obama Nation,” was picked up by authorities at his hotel at 9:45 a.m. and detained at Nyayo House, the provincial headquarters for Nairobi.

“Just as we were about to start the 10 a.m. press conference at the Grand Regency Hotel in Nairobi, Kenyan immigration approached us and detained us,” Corsi told WND by telephone this morning. “Tim Bueler, my publicist, and I are now in the immigration offices, with our passports taken. The immigration officer told the press, ‘There is no problem, and Dr. Corsi is a friend of Kenya.’”

“There are unconfirmed reports from on the ground in Nairobi that Jerome Corsi and his traveling partner and publicist, Tim Bueler, have left Kenya,” said Joseph Farah, editor and chief executive officer of WND who was in touch with Corsi by telephone and email until 9:30 a.m. Eastern today. “However, we have not been able to reach either Corsi or Bueler for several hours, and we are concerned. Officials in Kenya have not been responsive to our requests for information. We also hear unconfirmed reports from the government claiming it has ‘deported’ Corsi. Since Corsi was scheduled to leave the country today, this would seem to be a strange action from a government that was well aware of Corsi’s presence, his travels and his activities in the country for the last week.”

Obama’s economic policy

Stix1972 (R-IL) (VRWC)

100 economists think that Obama’s economic policieswould be drastic for oureconomy.   It would bring our economy farther down and into a recession.

Economists Statement On Barack Obama’s Risky Economic Proposals

ARLINGTON, VA – Today, McCain-Palin 2008 released the following statement signed by 100 distinguished and experienced economists at major American universities and research organizations, including five Nobel Prize winners Gary Becker, James Buchanan, Robert Mundell, Edward Prescott, and Vernon Smith. The economists explain why Barack Obama’s proposals, including “misguided tax hikes,” would “decrease the number of jobs in America.” The prospects of such tax rate increases under Barack Obama are already harming the economy. The economists conclude that “Barack Obama’s economic proposals are wrong for the American economy.” The proposals “defy both economic reason and economic experience.”

The full economists’ statement on Barack Obama’s economic proposals and a complete list of economists who support it follows:

Barack Obama argues that his proposals to raise tax rates and halt international trade agreements would benefit the American economy. They would do nothing of the sort. Economic analysis and historical experience show that they would do the opposite. They would reduce economic growth and decrease the number of jobs in America. Moreover, with the credit crunch, the housing slump, and high energy prices weakening the U.S. economy, his proposals run a high risk of throwing the economy into a deep recession. It was exactly such misguided tax hikes and protectionism, enacted when the U.S. economy was weak in the early 1930s, that greatly increased the severity of the Great Depression.

We are very concerned with Barack Obama’s opposition to trade agreements such as the pending one with Colombia, the new one with Central America, or the established one with Canada and Mexico. Exports from the United States to other countries create jobs for Americans. Imports make goods available to Americans at lower prices and are a particular benefit to families and individuals with low incomes. International trade is also a powerful source of strength in a weak economy. In the second quarter of this year, for example, increased international trade did far more to stimulate the U.S. economy than the federal government’s “stimulus” package.

Ironically, rather than supporting international trade, Barack Obama is now proposing yet another so-called stimulus package, which would do very little to grow the economy. And his proposal to finance the package with higher taxes on oil would raise oil prices directly and by reducing exploration and production.

We are equally concerned with his proposals to increase tax rates on labor income and investment. His dividend and capital gains tax increases would reduce investment and cut into the savings of millions of Americans. His proposals to increase income and payroll tax rates would discourage the formation and expansion of small businesses and reduce employment and take-home pay, as would his mandates on firms to provide expensive health insurance.

After hearing such economic criticism of his proposals, Barack Obama has apparently suggested to some people that he might postpone his tax increases, perhaps to 2010. But it is a mistake to think that postponing such tax increases would prevent their harmful effect on the economy today. The prospect of such tax rate increases in 2010 is already a drag on the economy. Businesses considering whether to hire workers today and expand their operations have time horizons longer than a year or two, so the prospect of higher taxes starting in 2009 or 2010 reduces hiring and investment in 2008.

In sum, Barack Obama’s economic proposals are wrong for the American economy. They defy both economic reason and economic experience.
