It’s always amused me that people seem to think being a lawyer qualifies a person as an expert on just about anything.  Somehow a three year Juris Doctor degree carries more qualification than PhD in damn near anything else.  That’s why we keep sending lawyers to Congress to regulate every single industry.

Apparently even more than a law degree, putting a D for Democrat beside your name apparently makes you some sort of all-knowing super-expert.

I guess that’s where New York Legislator Felix Ortiz (D-Brooklyn) gets off writing legislation banning the use of salt in food preparation.  Thanks to myfoxny.com for enlightening us all not only to the bill but actually printing the text of the bill.

“No owner or operator of a restaurant in this state shall use salt in any form in the preparation of any food for consumption by customers of such restaurant, including food prepared to be consumed on the premises of such restaurant or off of such premises,” Bill A. 10129.

This makes me wonder if Mr. Ortiz has ever taken a biology class in his life.  Does the man have absolutely no idea that salt is a necessary part of biological function!  Has Ortiz ever prepared a meal himself?  Salt is an important ingredient in not only taste but in life!

Certainly there are limits.  Many Americans do consume too much salt.  But the world is full of adrenaline junkies, video game addicts, and a whole score of people who take things to extremes.  Tiger Woods and David Duchovny’s recent admissions that they were addicted to sex doesn’t mean that the federal or state governments should limit the amount of sex a person should have.  Or ban sex all together!

Once again, we see that the true modus operandi of the American liberal has nothing to do with truly governing.  It is purely motivated by power lust.  Or stupidity.

Which one is it this time Ortiz?

IT’S ALMOST HERE!!!

There are a number of movements related to the foods we eat.  The tiny little bananas with brown spots labeled as “organic” at WalMart intrigue me, for they sport a price tag at least twice what I normally pay.  It seems an awkward spot to find such foods, like a wave to a market that hates WalMart on principle and thus unlikely to ever shop there anyway.

But apparently, the massive supermarket change has been making a number of changes in how it runs its operation, including a greater investment in local agriculture resulting in fresher, tastier produce.  In a little taste-off between foods purchased at Whole Foods and WalMart, Walmart did surprisingly well, beating the competition in many areas.

But food and taste are very subjective things, and I doubt even the foodies upset to discover they had preferred something from WalMart will begin shopping there after this little event.

I don’t know that much about organic foods on its own, and tend to make my purchasing decisions based more on price.  I was quite pleased to see WalMart’s commitment to local agriculture which only benefits everyone in a community through a larger market for local farmers and fresher, better tasting food for all of us.

The London Telegraph is carrying a story on what is an on-going outrage in the southern Swedish city of Malmo. The city’s long resident Jewish community, some of whom are Holocaust survivors, are leaving the city in droves. Why?

It is because of continuous hostility, harassment and hate directed at them from many of the city’s more recent Muslim immigrants, who now make up some one-fifth of the population. Jewish people have been attacked, synagogues have been attacked and cemetries desecrated. How could this be happening in 21st century Europe-especially Sweden?

I have been writing sometime about the outrages committed by certain members of the Muslim immigrant community of Malmo- violent protests and demonstrations, crime and the inability/unwillingness of the city’s mayor, Ilmar Reepalu, to confront it. Reepalu is outwardly unsympathetic to Malmo’s Jewish community. While he condemns anti-Semitism, he condemns Israel and Zionism in the same breath.

Now he says in the above article that if the city’s Jews want to emigrate to Israel, that is not (the city’s) concern.

What a disgrace.

During the German occupation of Denmark, that country succeeded in saving most of their Jews from the Nazis by smuggling them to southern Sweden. Denmark stood in contrast to other countries under German occupation who cooperated with the Germans in rounding up their Jews and handing them over to the occupiers. Now places like Malmo are cooperating with the new occupiers, the new Nazis, radical Islamists who are taking over European cities and bending them to their will. How sickening that mayors like Reepalu take the position that if the new occupiers don’t like Jews then screw the Jews.

It makes one want to cry.

Reality:

• They are selling hatred for those that have earned their wealth, yet they in turn gain their wealth through Corruption and Tyranny…They are thieves!
• Big Biz is not our Satan, but our salvation!  We don’t need jobs, we need more small business growing into Big business so that someone besides the Government can hire Americans!
• Just because it is in the media does not mean it is legitimate.  In fact, the media is in the pocket of these Socialist Squirrels.
• Celebrity is just that, but it is morals and ethics that are the measure of the man and Al Franken is very wanting.
• Taxing the Rich is the most stupidest thing I have ever heard!  If you tax the rich you will have the rich leaving America and taking their money with them.  They will no longer innovate and grow business providing jobs!  This is what is happening!  No one wants to risk loosing their lifes work to nationalization or redistribution!
• I am laughing my ass off here!  Can you imagine going to the DNC or Al Franken for any Answers?  Seriously!  Who would be so silly?  The DNC is all about Socialism and stealing from the productive to enslave the slothful.  It is all about power, corruption and Tyranny my friends!
