I know I have been missing in action lately again, but I have been working on trying to move a site from Drupal to WPMU.

I know I have been missing in action lately again, but I have been working on trying to move a site from Drupal to WPMU.

AHHHHH It is a lot tougher than one might think, or at least trying to figure it out. I am basically done, but some thing do not wnat to transfer, such as users.

But if anyone out there wants to do this here is a basic giude that I found at Social CMS Buzz:

Checklist

Make sure you have 40 – 60 minutes that will be free from distractions, wife, kids, phone, dog, twitter etc.

Do not under any circumstances perform this task on a live website, install WAMP or similar on your PC to use as a development server.

Completely backup your Drupal 6 website files and database included.

Have a fresh install of WordPress v2.7 installed and running, backup this also as it easier to just upload the DB file if you mess up during conversion instead of starting again from the beginning.

Grab a coffee, tea, beer or personal weapon of choice and begin.

Step One

Install a fresh copy of WordPress v2.7 and it’s database to your development server our created database name was titled “tempdb” title yours the same if you do not want to edit any of our supplied SQL queries, this is the install we will be importing Drupal 6 into so check that wordpress is fully functional before continuing. Goto phpMyadmin and backup this database, also take note of which table have been installed by WordPress these tables always begin with wp_ as you will need to recognize these for later. Below is a list of the basic WordPress install tables within a fresh install.

wp_comments

wp_links

wp_options

wp_postmeta

wp_posts

wp_ratings

wp_terms

wp_term_relationships

wp_term_taxonomy

wp_usermeta

wp_users

Now grab the SQL file backup of you Drupal 6 based website, goto phpMyadmin or similar and upload that database into the same database where you installed WordPress. This is very important as for conversion/import we need both the Druapl6 and WordPress 2.7 databases to be combined to begin with.

Once that step is complete we can begin to run the SQL queries with phpMyadmin that will import the data from your Drupal 6 database into the WordPress 2.7 database.

Drupal 6 To WordPress SQL Queries

Goto the page above in your database as this is where we will be pasting the SQL queries to that are listed below.

First off we need to clean out any data that may reside within certain WordPress tables, copy, past and run the query below in phpMyadmin to do this.

IMPORTANT: the “tempdb.” that is within the code if your database is not named “tempdb” you will need to change all instances of “tempdb” to the name of your actual database. So for example if your database is called “wordpress” it would look like this “wordpress.wp_comments;” etc.

Clean WordPress Before Import

TRUNCATE TABLE tempdb.wp_comments;
TRUNCATE TABLE tempdb.wp_links;
TRUNCATE TABLE tempdb.wp_postmeta;
TRUNCATE TABLE tempdb.wp_posts;
TRUNCATE TABLE tempdb.wp_term_relationships;
TRUNCATE TABLE tempdb.wp_term_taxonomy;
TRUNCATE TABLE tempdb.wp_terms;

Import Taxonomy Terms

INSERT INTO tempdb.wp_terms (term_id, `name`, slug, term_group)
SELECT
d.tid, d.name, REPLACE(LOWER(d.name), ' ', '-'), 0
FROM tempdb.term_data d
INNER JOIN tempdb.term_hierarchy h
USING(tid)
;

INSERT INTO tempdb.wp_term_taxonomy (term_id, taxonomy, description, parent)
SELECT
d.tid `term_id`,
'category' `taxonomy`,
d.description `description`,
h.parent `parent`
FROM tempdb.term_data d
INNER JOIN tempdb.term_hierarchy h
USING(tid)
;

Import Post Content

INSERT INTO
    tempdb.wp_posts (id, post_date, post_content, post_title,
    post_excerpt, post_name, post_modified)
SELECT DISTINCT
    n.nid, FROM_UNIXTIME(created), body, n.title,
    teaser,
    REPLACE(REPLACE(REPLACE(REPLACE(LOWER(n.title),' ', '-'),'.', '-'),',', '-'),'+', '-'),
    FROM_UNIXTIME(changed)
FROM tempdb.node n, tempdb.node_revisions r
WHERE n.vid = r.vid

Post and Category Relations Query

INSERT INTO tempdb.wp_term_relationships (object_id, term_taxonomy_id)
SELECT nid, tid FROM tempdb.term_node;

Category Count Updating

UPDATE wp_term_taxonomy tt
SET `count` = (
SELECT COUNT(tr.object_id)
FROM wp_term_relationships tr
WHERE tr.term_taxonomy_id = tt.term_taxonomy_id
);

Comments Query keeping unapproved comments hidden

INSERT INTO tempdb.wp_comments (comment_post_ID, comment_date, comment_content, comment_parent, comment_author, comment_author_email, comment_author_url, comment_approved)
SELECT nid, FROM_UNIXTIME(timestamp), comment, thread, name, mail, homepage, status FROM tempdb.comments;

Update comments count on wp_posts table query

UPDATE `wp_posts` SET `comment_count` = (SELECT COUNT(`comment_post_id`) FROM `wp_comments` WHERE `wp_posts`.`id` = `wp_comments`.`comment_post_id`);

Fix breaks in post content

UPDATE tempdb.wp_posts SET post_content = REPLACE(post_content, '', '');

Fix images in post content

UPDATE tempdb.wp_posts SET post_content = REPLACE(post_content, '"/sites/default/files/', '"/wp-content/uploads/');

I also got this from Smullins bog:
To change the comments to approves you need to run this script also:

UPDATE wordpress.wp_comments set comment_approved = (comment_approved + 1) % 2;

The Election today will have many side effects for the upcoming elections in November. It also will have a great effect on the legislation that is working its way through CONgress. If Brown wins, he will negate the filibuster proof Senate the Democrats (Socialists) have.

Also this elections shows that the Right (Conservatives) can come together over the country and pull for a candidate without the help of the RNC. This could be the template for the elections later this year. To target local and state elections that are winnable. Look at NY23 also for inspiration. Both Hoffman and Brown were behind in the polls until the word got out on Twitter and Facebook.

So we are not the Silent Majority anymore and we want our thoughts heard. Which brings me to a couple of good posts by a friends that I think all Conseravatives should read. The First is one by Skye (Tania Gail) posted at my 73 Wire Business and Technology Blog:

Tech Guide for Citizen Activists

2009 witnessed the rise of grass root citizen activism with millions of ordinary citizens turning out to tea parties all over the country. Without a doubt, history is in the making. So how does the newly energized citizen activist document it? Fortunately, we are living in the midst of a tech boom, especially digital recording and communication. Today’s activist has an astounding array of digital choices for documenting and disseminating the tea party message.

Attending conventions and tea party rallies, I find there’s a great knowledge gap between tech super users and newly energized citizen activists. I spend a fair amount of time evaluating digital technology used to document tea party rallies and have put together a ’starter kit’ for the citizen activist seeking to document history happening in their own backyard. This kit cuts through the clutter and tells you exactly what you need to purchase – without having to apply for a federal bailout loan. Let’s start with a list of items you will need; Digital Camera, Digital video recorder, Netbook, Blog, Business Cards, and Local News Media….

I would advise anyone that wants to make a difference locally or even nationally should read the whole thing

Next up is a friend, Joe Keanha, over at Redsate that did a great post about Twitter and the Conservative Movement:

Twitter and the Conservative Movement
If you’re reading this, then no doubt you know the profound impact the blogs, such as Red State, have had on politics and political movements. Blogs have allowed the individual to broadcast their lives to many different people who would otherwise not take notice.

The website Twitter is often ridiculed in my circle of friends but they do not understand the value of it. Like blogs, Twitter allows you to broadcast yourself to potentially millions. It wasn’t until I joined Twitter that I recognized what a useful tool it is. For me, politics takes front and center for my Twitter profile. Yes, occasionally you’ll see a post about me standing in line at the checkout at Walmart, but for the most part, I dedicate it to furthering the Conservative Movement.

Another one that I think every Conservative should read

As both of these posts show, anyone can have an influence, if only they get out there and do it. And I think this is what we need on the Conservative side to defeat the Leftists that have taken over the Democrat Party. This is not the same Party that JFK was in, or even Moynihan. The 60 radical Left has taken over the Democrats and we need to use all the tools that we can to defeat these Statists. And this election can be the template that will bring us back from the Leftward lurch the country has taken

Tonight on KUSI, there will be a special about Global Warming (Manbearpig). It was inspired by the leak of the CRU emails and files that have shown that much of what we have heard from the so-called Climate experts has been manipulated and for the most part totally wrong. In the famous Hockey Stick graph, they leave out many well documented Climate changes that show that the Earth’s climate is always in constant change. The Little Ice Age, the Medieval Warm Period and the “warm blip in the 40s” are all left out of many of the Chicken Little’s and the Earth is melting crowd’s findings.

The NOAA has a big part in this, they along with the CRU have been a big players in the misinformation and dire forecasts of doom.

Here is an email that I got today from the Heartland Institute:

NASA Climategate Exposed Tonight

Climate researchers have discovered that NASA researchers improperly manipulated data in order to claim 2005 as “the warmest year on record.”

KUSI-TV meteorologist, Weather Channel founder, and iconic weatherman John Coleman will present these findings in a one-hour special airing on KUSI-TV on January 14 at 9 p.m. EST. A related report will be made available on the Internet at 6 p.m. EST on January 14 at www.kusi.com.

In a new report, computer expert E. Michael Smith and Certified Consulting Meteorologist Joseph D’Aleo discovered extensive manipulation of the temperature data by the U.S. government’s two primary climate centers: the National Climatic Data Center (NCDC) in Asheville, North Carolina and the NASA Goddard Institute for Space Studies (GISS) at Columbia University in New York City. Smith and D’Aleo accuse these centers of manipulating temperature data to give the appearance of warmer temperatures than actually occurred by trimming the number and location of weather observation stations. The report is available online at http://icecap.us/images/uploads/NOAAroleinclimategate.pdf.

The report reveals that there were no actual temperatures left in the computer database when NASA/NCDC proclaimed 2005 as “the warmest year on record.” The NCDC deleted actual temperatures at thousands of locations throughout the world as it changed to a system of global grid points, each of which is determined by averaging the temperatures of two or more adjacent weather observation stations. So the NCDC grid map contains only averaged, not real, temperatures, giving rise to significant doubt that the result is a valid representation of Earth temperatures.

The number of actual weather observation points used as a starting point for world average temperatures was reduced from about 6,000 in the 1970s to about 1,000 now. “That leaves much of the world unaccounted for,” says D’Aleo.

The NCDC data are regularly used by the National Weather Service to declare a given month or year as setting a record for warmth. Such pronouncements are typically made in support of the global warming alarmism agenda. Researchers who support the United Nations’ Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) also regularly use the NASA/NCDC data, including researchers associated with the Climatic Research Unit at the University of East Anglia that is now at the center of the “Climategate” controversy.

This problem is only the tip of the iceberg with NCDC data. “For one thing, it is clear that comparing data from previous years, when the final figure was produced by averaging a large number of temperatures, with those of later years, produced from a small temperature base and the grid method, is like comparing apples and oranges,” says Smith. “When the differences between the warmest year in history and the tenth warmest year is less than three-quarters of a degree, it becomes silly to rely on such comparisons,” added D’Aleo, who asserts that the data manipulation is “scientific travesty” that was committed by activist scientists to advance the global warming agenda.

Smith and D’Aleo are both interviewed as part of a report on this study on the television special, “Global Warming: The Other Side,” which will air at 9 PM on January 14 on KUSI-TV, channel 9/51, San Diego, California. The detailed report is available at http://icecap.us/images/uploads/NOAAroleinclimategate.pdf.

The KUSI News Special will be posted at http://www.kusi.com/weather/colemanscorner/81175327.html as four segments a few hours before the program is telecast Thursday evening.

Segment 1 covers the basic issue of the bad science behind the global warming frenzy. We explain the hypothesis of your carbon footprint, the result of the co2 that enters the atmosphere as a result of burning of fossil fuels to support your lifestyle. We show how that theory has failed to verify and proven wrong.

Segment 2 tells the story of Roger Revelle and Al Gore and Maurice Strong and the UN IPCC, It ends with Revelle realizing that CO2 is not a significant greenhouse gas, but Gore dismissing Revelle as senile and refusing to debate. And it ends with the UN holding on to its global warming claims despite the failure of its computer models to verify while Maurice Strong goes reclusive in his condo in China, living on the oil for peace money.

Segment 3 is the debunking of the many claims of impending climate catastrophes Al Gore’s movie “An Inconvenient Truth”.

Segment 4 is the breaking news of Climategate coming to the US.

There is also a brief summation segment.

Experts featured on the program are Fred Singer, Richard Lindzen, Willie Soon, Craig Idso, Lord Christopher Monckton, Joseph D’Aleo and E. Michael Smith. We also feature two musical items by the Minnesotans for Global Warming. I thank you one and all for being a part of the program, which we hope will have along life and be rebroadcast on many outlets and eventually be shown in schools to balance the Gore flick.

The Web site will post supporting materials for each segment so viewers who want to learn more will have documents to read and links to other videos and reports posted elsewhere. There will be chat room running during the program on the KUSI page of Facebook.

Here is the PDF of the report in the email

Well it is a new year and with all the Holidays out of the way, it is time to get back to business. I have been busy with family and friends over the holidays, so it has been hard to come and post here. But I will be around more often from now on.

Usually this post will be about the weekly review of the Grizzy Groundswell posts, but since I have not really been keeping track of them, I am not going to do that. Instead I think I will do a post about what we should look forward to in 2010

We have had a good year for the Conservative Cause and Movement. With Obama being elected ans showing how far Left the Democrats have become, we have galvanized and movement to stop the overbearing hand of the Government. The Tea Parties and the 912 Groups have gotten our message out and the MSM (Lamestreet Media) or whatever you want to call them, cannot look the other way and ignore us. Even if they call us “Tebagger” or demean us, they still need to report on us.

With that said, we need to keep up the pressure and make this a lasting theme for 2010 all the way up until the elections later this year and beyond. This shall not be a one year occurrence and needs to be the wheel to get this country back to “We the People” , not we the CONgress Critters. We must take backl the power form DC and put it back into the hands of the people.

How do we do that??? Well, there are many ways we can do this and keep the momentum going, For one get out there and start blogging or join a group where you can say your peace. But with that, blogging and posting will not do it alone. We must get involved with the local political parties, start at the local level. As the saying goes “Politics is all local” . Getting back at the local and state level will be a good way to show the National Parties that we will not sit it out and let them control us.

The main thing that is needed is a cleaning of the house in the Republican Party. They are supposedly the Conservative Party, but seem to be just Democrat lite lately. We need to get back the Republican Party from the Political Insiders in DC. They have moved the party too far to the Left to get along with the Elite in DC and the MSM.

But with all that said, the Republican Party should be the Big Tent Party. More people consider themselves Conservative in this country than Liberal. And how in the world do we get Obama out of this??? Well, I think for one the Republicans have been trying to hard to get to the center. The Big Tent party should comprise those if us that think the Government is too large and out of control. Libertarians and Conservatives need to unite against the Left. The animosity between us should be stopped and we should join together to stop the far Left Lurch this country is taking with the Far Left Democrats in power.

The more the Right fights amongst itself, the longer we are going to have people like Obama, Reid and Pelosi shaping the philosophy of the Federal Government. And we cannot let them stay in power and take away our liberties and freedom. The Nanny State has become overbearing and needs to be stopped and stopped now. Health Care take over , Cap and Trade, Porkuls, Auto and Bank bailouts must stop or we will become a third world country with inflation and unemployment out of control.

One of the worst things about Google Wave has been the inability for you to get a notification for new Blips on Waves.

One of the worst things about Google Wave has been the inability for you to get a notification for new Blips on Waves. There was the Firefox Extension for Google Wave that notifies to you of new blips or if someone edited a Wave, and also there was Emaily(emaily-wave@appspot.com) in Google Wave itself that sends you an email when someone edits or adds a blip.

But for those that do not want to keep Wave ope all the time and do not use Firefox, there is a new Desktop notifier for Windows operating systems.

This will definitely make Google Wave more user friendly for those that do not want to have Wave open all the time.

And if any of you still want to get an invite to Google wave I got a few left. Either leave a comment here or email me at stixblog@gmail.com if you want one.
