“…This
CBS poll had a total of 875 respondents that identified themselves as
registered voters. Out of these 875 people, they have 275 people
identifying themselves as Republicans. A full 28.3 percent, they also
have 307 people identifying themselves as Independents, about 35.1
percent. They have 320 people identifying themselves as Democrats,
about 36.6 percent. Out of total respondents, an 8.3 percent advantage
for Democrats over Republicans. The actual difference between Democrats
and Republicans is 45 people, that is 16.3 percent more Democrats
polled than Republicans.

Yet this poll shows Obama with a 3
point lead, within it’s own margin of error, a statistical tie even
with this oversampling. Most other polls being conducted right now show
similar or worse oversampling and methodology. When the pollsters want
the results to be closer, they usually sample more Independents and
when they want the results to show Obama with a huge lead, they usually
sample more Democrats.

This is why I don’t want anyone to get
discouraged. When I do the math on these polls, there is no way that
Obama gets 50 percent of the vote in this country come election day.
That, in and of itself is a good indicator that he can’t win. He can
only win if you don’t show up. If we all show up on election day in
numbers similar to 2004, there is no way we can lose. Don’t get
discouraged. Don’t be taught to lose. We are winning!”
