Tricks or Treats…a time to get to know your neighbors!

It’s been a busy day for the Groundswell, and I would like to give my kudos to Chad for making the website switch so smooth for us all.  I have had no problems logging in, and love the new format!  I am sure that Chad will do his best to make us all feel very welcome and comfortable here…no matter what your political background may be.  This is a place to voice your thoughts, ideas, and opinions…so that all may come together for a mutual purpose.

The subject I would like to raise for discussion is a forum for debate… do you allow tricks and treats?  Are you the type that enjoys the commaraderie, or do you think this is a sociaslist holiday intended to train our children to beg for handouts?  Does it penetrate further with risque costumes for children under thirteen, and are we allowing our children to be taken in by media hype?

Today I listened to several talk show hosts who did not agree with the trick or treating.  On the face of it all, I would have to agree with them.  However after building my bonfire and visiting with several neighbors who brought their kids to my home, I found it was a great opportunity to network and get to know others that I may not have previously met.  Since my kids are (almost) beyond trick or treat, I found that my position as veteran parent and neighbor was appreciated by most who arrived to warm themselves by our bonfire.  We set up extra chairs, and invited our (previously unknown) neighbors to sit for a while…they all appreciated our invitation, and the warmth our fire provided.

We had also invited other friends to visit our home and neighborhood, thus providing further fullfillment on our part.  We gave what we had, and provided for others what they may not have been able to do otherwise…

All in all, we had a great night.  We shared, we shared, and then we shared some more.  That is what our country is about, giving what we have when we can give it.  God bless America, we ARE the greatest country in the world!

In my neighborhood we have a lot of different colors, I love that.   It adds to my coat of many colors…may Jesus bless us all!

Happy Reformation…

    country cub,

Glad to see you made it! It sounds like your halloween was one of reconnecting in your local political landscape in your very own Backyard or neighborhood. Congrat’s! I had to work my Dave Ramsey, “Better than I deserve” Job tonight.

Keep coming back! You will have to post and tell people about your EcoQuest products!

I could of used your cleaning products tonight. Well, a possum may have met his maker around my chicken coop. It was a CSI Scene, let me tell you. Poultry are fine, but the Possum dines with Jesus tonight.

Hey, I have sad news. My Bronze Turkey, Compo cacked yesterday! He must of had a heart attack. He just stopped, dropped and rolled teets up. When you surround yourself with life…life happens.

    Take care!

    Chad

Sorry to hear about your bloody mess, what an awful experience…especially on Halloween! Two critters lost to nature…in one day!

I am not a huge Halloween fan, but this was our last year with a kid out trick or treating. I have never gone the route of boycotting the pagan holiday from my children, but take it as an opportunity to share with others. We did that last night, and enjoyed visiting with our friends and neighbors. Many stopped by, and some even discussed politics, referendums, and the candidates potential on both sides of the aisle. I felt as if I were really following through with our “backyard” responsibilities.

We didn’t get any “prosti-TOTS” at our door, you know…the nine year old dressed up as a french maid type of thing. In fact, I was quite proud to see a gory costumed kid with a hatchet in his head and fake blood…he won the award for me last night!

Our thirteen year old daughter dressed up in black, wore a plain white mask with white gloves, and called herself a puppeteer. She looked really cool, but her teacher wouldn’t allow her costume because it kinda freaked him out…so sad being that she goes to private school and I wouldn’t expect that there. But then again she has debated him on Global Warming…so I shouldn’t be surprised.

Speaking of Global Warming…that cleaning product you were asking about is the best stuff I have ever used to clean just about everything. It is all natural ingredients, and complies with all osha standards. I have found it especially good for grease, blood, coffee, almost any tough to get out stain. I use it all over inside my house, but found it very effective outside as well. It has no smell, and won’t kill my plants when I wash the siding on my house, or my cement walks. In fact, our daughter recently spilled popcorn oil on our brand new cement patio while having (campfire fun) on family night, I didn’t have to make her feel bad…I just sprayed it with EcoH the next day, and it rinsed right off! I am a clean freak…and try to be a good steward of our property. EcoH cuts my cleaning time in half, no kidding. Visit my Ecoquest sight, I can guarantee they are the best products on the market for creating a healthy home environment! I did daycare for thirteen years, and used lots of different products to address our everyday home health and cleaning issues. I love that my life has been simplified now, and cleaning is a snap with an ecofriendly home. Better yet, it is a poke in the eye of the libs who claim the earth is being destroyed by humans! Our products address their complaints, and do so effectively!

I am going to try and highlight some indoor home health issues in the coming months here on your blog, so we can educate ourselves on keeping our loved ones safe and healthy during the winter months. As a retired childcare provider, I have lots of insight that others may have overlooked. I hope to help your readers keep their families healthy and in tact, so we may all contribute our gifts and talents to preserving freedom here in America, the greatest country in the world!

I will leave political analysis to the pros…and give you my insight from a mom’s point of view! Whatever that is worth…

All my blessings and prayers for our bloggers, keep up the good work and remain truthful. Truth is hard to swallow, but we need to hear it everyday!!
