Wealthiest Americans DO Pay Their Fair Share
So much it would seem, for the myth about the “Rich” not paying their share in taxes. I suppose that lie was generated to aide in furthering the Socialist Agenda.. erm.. I mean Obama’s wealth distribution ideal. It looks as if the recent IRS data released about various wealth brackets show the richest actually pay well beyond their share.
Taken from the CFIF.org site; According to the statistics, the richest 1% of American taxpayers (those earning above $389,000) earned 22% of the nation’s reported income. But their share of the nation’s income taxes was 40%. In other words, the wealthiest 1% of Americans’ income tax payments are almost twice as much as their “fair share.”

No one pays their fair share…. that is why we need the fair tax. Corporations pass taxes on to consumers as an expense and label it as a cost in their books.
There are people who have significant incomes and yet cheat the system to receive WIC and other government benefits illegally and there are too many sweetheart deals made in smoke filled rooms that the middle-class has no way to police properly, expose or take advantage of even if they wanted to.
I get the point of your Blog, all I am saying is that in order for everyone to participate correctly in the paying of taxes, what we need is the fair tax, the consumption tax and that is it…nothing else, no more IRS, no more ridiculous budgets, no more national debt.
Take care.

@ John Barnhart,
A very, very fair assesment. It’s true that in reality, no one “fully” pays their fair share. I’m glad my point did come accross that the continuous “whine effect” needs to go.
On numerous occassions in discussions, the subject of a flat tax has come up. Although the amount varied greatly, (anywhere from 11-19%), the overall feeling was always that the IRS needs to go.
