Why I Support The Republican Party in 2008 (An Afro - American Perspective)

I support the Republican Party because I believe in the American Dream, and the willingness of the party to win the War On Terror.  I am an active member of Families United For A Strong America, Vet’s For Freedom, The U.S. Army Freedom Team Salute Ambassador Program, The DAV; and I started Amateur Radio Military Appreciation Day to let our Troops and Veterans hear messages of support and appreciation from our communities nationwide.  I believe that America must take a leading role in the fight for freedom, and we must support those that serve in the Armed Forces.  Their families must also know that America stands behind our real heroes.
I have attended two rallies in support of our President and Troops in Washington, D.C. and I was at the Breakfast At The White House last September with Families United.  Over the past five years I have planned and organized ARMAD (www.armad.net) so that our Troops, Veterans, Military Retired, and their families can have the opportunity to hear public support from our communities that we support them for protecting us. ARMAD has grown rapidly, and won various awards for it’s efforts.
I support the energy plan, and the programs that the party has proposed, and demonstrated toward our Veterans.  I am also a military Veteran.  It is very important that this Country remains strong, and that we continue to follow the steps of our Founders.  It is through good Conservative leadership in the House, Senate, and from our Executive Branch that we will achieve that goal.
I hope to be in Minneapolis on September first to show my support.  As an Afro-American, I believe it is imperative that the Party gets it’s message out that it is the Party to continue to allow America to thrive.  We need strong Supreme Court Justices appointed to the Bench, and laws that continue to allow business to thrive without governminterferenceence.
It is sad that so many people have blindly decided to follow a candidate for President that we know so little about, and who would “change” America without explaining just what is meant by his dream and desire to change the direction of our nation.  America does not need to be changed, we just need to follow the rule of law and our great Constitution.
Many Afro-Americans also speak of making history this November if we elect a Black President.  We don’t need to elect a person based on race alone to make history.  That person must be the right person that stands for the principles that have made America what it is for over 200 years.  History for the sake of history is not what we need in America.  We need a strong and moral leader that can continue to keep our nation a beacon for the world.
America is a great nation, and we must continue to lead the world.  Thank you for your leadership, and platform.  I am sure that after the election in November, we can continue to move forward.  God Bless America!
Sincerely;
Emery McClendon Sr.

    Thank you for all you do and your service to this country and your fellow soldiers. with my in-laws I have 6 children serving in the military now. 3 have been to Iraq and one leaves in Nov. He also served Kosovo, korea, germany, and bosnia. He is a republican reporter for the military. I am shocked to see how we all were hoodwinked into thinking we hated Bush (not me but the country). I can’t believe how Obama disrespects Mccain’s 5 years of torture and make him out to be angry. The way they have destroyed the moral fiber of our country and try to make us feel bad about the way things are. Like it is our fault. It is our duty to protect our country. god gave men special hearts to be a soldier and everytime I hear a Democrat spew out We killed our young it angers me. I have to pray and commend everyone who wears the uniform with dignity. I have a picture of Obama, Clinton and Richardson at the National anthem and everyone has their hands on their hearts except OBAMA. I don’t want him to be my sons and daughters commander in chief. I will pray for your efforts and works. God be with you and all our troops.
