Amy Tan presents on Creativity
by TeddyBear ~ April 29th, 2008. Filed under: Creating Prosperity, Creativity, Faith, Formula of Change, The Clay Empire.Amy Tan has obviously dwelt in the recesses of creativity that I know so intimately well. In watching this presentation, It was as if I had found that individual who rode out that storm with me, and laughed and cried relieved as it abated, then missing the clap of thunder and driving sound of rain when it was all done, feeling uneasy in the sudden stillness. Creativity is a powerful thing that is elusive as the Gospel. You can not capture it, you have to ride it, and let it take you where you were already have gone before but this time, it is deeper. This time it is clearer, this time you can take a little back with you. Then you awake and it is done, time has bent and it is a new day.
Enjoy this presentation and think about that creative muscle you have. Are you utilizing it enough. I must state that I know the conservative is truly the most creative among us. They are the entrepreneurs moving mountains and orchestration the herding of cats daily. We are my friends the job creators, the innovators and the ones who fix what is broken. We take from the old and merge it with the new in an innovative way. We bend, turn and construct things in our minds. We see the rules of the game and think of a new way to play it utilizing the very same rules everyone else ignored and just followed the chap in front of them.
My friends, conservatives, especially us pietistic Norwegians, are truly the ones you want on your side when it looks like there is no way to turn, no solution and no more options. There is always a way. Put a whistle to it. Sit back and think it through as you gaze into a cloud. Take a nap, when you awake it will be solved in your mind. Utilize this creative muscle we have overdeveloped.
Think of it this way Grizzly Groundswell men, how many ways do have to get out of the honey do list? Tell me you are not creative now? How about this now Grizzly Groundswell Women, how is it that you can spend all the effort on yourself to look lovely and beautiful, run the home, work you job, take care of the kids, including us husbands and still know what day it is and excel at home, work and in your community? Tell me again how you think you are not creative! Face it my friends, we have creative coming out our ears!
The trouble is when we loose faith, and hope. We forget to approach life as a child and look at the problem or the prison we have created for ourselves as if this was all there is to life and we did not have creativity to set us free.
Break it out my friends. Dream of businesses, Dream of improving your employers business. Dream of educational moments that you can communicate those things you hold precious in life to those you love and even your enemies.
We need to Grizzly Groundswell our creativity in all our backyards and start looking at things in different ways. Simply put, the old guard is just that. A facade of power and might that the socialist squirrels want us to fear and turn away from back to our uncreative existence. Well, how can we communicate our conservative message to the world regardless of our candidate is?
How do we communicate to our neighbors and friends the prosperity, freedom and liberty that can be gained by conservative thought into grassroots action? How can we fight radicalism, and socialism in a more creative way?
Today, I want you to take a moment and take that nap, dream into those clouds and maybe just write or draw. Get those creative muscles a work out. Dance, or sing this out to get to that creative moment. Then report back to me here in the comments and let me know what you came up with. Maybe it is something so easy and basic that I could utilize on the Grizzly Groundswell to better equip all the Grizzly Groundswell faithful. Maybe it is something you want to try in your backyard to see if it will work.
one thing that I am awaking to is the threat of unions and socialism in America. I know our elected officials are all influenced her in Minnesota by the education unions. I am trying to wrap my head around defeating something so infested in every level of state government. It looks like a mountain I can not move, yet, my great grandfather found a way to derail it in 1921. I see how he did it, but times even though they are the same, they have changed. Now “Big Biz” is organized in Corporations that have a whole new socialist left culture. The days of self made business men and women that did not rely on the government teet to get there are gone. There is no cavalry. yet, there is probably 1000 ways to defeat these socialist squirrels and they all are probably really simple. I know of a handful today but for myself to implement them, it will take years to see any traction. So, I plant seeds here and there hoping others will see what I am trying to communicate to them.
Then, I am faced with the telling of my great grandfathers story. What is the best way to do that? How do I find assistance and whom will God send me to accomplish this? I guess that is the fun part of this whole creative struggle. If I am living my story today, and I am, and you are, it is never quite boring. So, the reader should not complain that it was a boring read. Maybe comical at times, but I rest assured it is worth the effort and the reward to come at the end of the written saga. I am fortunate, I already have the girl. I just have not shown her my worth as of yet. I have shown her it is not easy to be married to an artist, entrepreneur and idiot such as myself, but then she always surprises me. You see, she is probably most creative of all of us! She is able to love and adore an idiot dreamer who believes in conservative tradition and thought into grassroots action, in my backyard and yours. Therefore, I salute my Michelle and all the lovely ladies who love their conservative husbands and lovers. I pray for those who are still looking for theirs and remind them to be careful what they wish for! You may just be blessed with an old fool such as myself. Although, every day you would wonder why and at the same time fear the day you ever had to be without him.
Just one more thing on creativity. Cherish and humor you child’s creativity. Don’t be afraid of it. My creativity graced my childhood. No matter what happened everything was blessed. Children are given to those who need to grow up and return to childhood to rekindle that curious gift of creativity. Observe our children’s gifts and talents and do not apply them to future jobs. Apply them to future dreams. Dream big my friends, for it is only in dreaming big that mountains get moved by faith.
Can you imagine the temerity of gentlemen opposing the greatest empire known to man and writing our Declaration of independence? They created a new union. They created a document we still hold dear today. They revolutionized civil order and almost assured freedom and liberty made possible for all in this world. It is up to us to creatively find a way to ensure that the world receives the gift God and our framers intended them to have.
Amy Tan a refuge of war from Korea, fled to this shining city on the hill, America. Here she found freedom and liberty and Christ. When she talks about the creative process I can tell she has been to the places I know so well. She is credible even though I am not sure our political views would line up at all. I know for myself I would be looking for Gore to laugh at his stupidity and see what the socialist squirrel would try to squirm out of the room. Yet, politics aside. She knows of where creativity is found. So I feel it is worth your time to have a look. So enjoy and let me know if you took the time to stretch your creative conservative muscle today.

Ted.com is an interesting concept. There is not enough conservatives in thought and action there, but maybe they will have me there some day talking about my relational stick structure and how it holds the secrets of the big questions, cosmology, DNA, theology and the scriptural concept of “All is vanity”. it also makes a heck of a bird feeder holder and backyard catch scratch.

LOL, you thought I was kidding didn’t you!
Well you have three response options:
 You can destroy it
 You can ignore it
8-) You can observe and learn from it
Pick your Poison.
