Horse Racing is in the blood.  My grandfather had a string of race horses my aunts and uncles blazed around small county fair tracks in North Dakota.  Listening to these stories around the bon fire pulled me right there riding with them.  The horse race, the greatest sporting event known to man.  One human entangled and interconnected with liquid lightning and raw animal power.  Both the horse and human interdependent upon each other to cross that finish line. 

 

My friends, get out to a horse track this Summer.  Stand down just underneath the wire and feel the energy as tons of power and might stampede to the wire.  If you are lucky, you will have picked the right one with your $2 wager.  Personally, I bet $1 exacta boxes.  I hope I win enough to pay for the entrance, the food and drink and if I have enough to cover the pittance I brought to bet with, then fun was had by all.  If I am so lucky to carry home some winnings, well my wife kindly sees that it goes to a good use.

 

I am really excited about the new harness racing track that opened North of the Metro.  I hope to get to know and love harness racing as much as I love the thoroughbred racing. 

 

I wonder if you have to be an optimist to love horse racing?

As a Raku Clay Artist, My first inclination is “Pyro”.  Yet, I have heard “Majestic Warrior” is something to see.  Although I hear the great American story is Bob Black Jack.  He was purchased for only 5 thousand dollars and is a long shot that keeps paying out the big odds. 

 

 I think it is just as fun doing the research, pulling the times and watching the video. Hey, here is another one!
