A co-worker of mine gave me a very interesting article last night. It’s about how, to the government, the Income Tax is THEIR “root of all evil,” and its creation with the 16th Amendment. It’s kinda become like their version of a century old “crack-cocaine” fix.

However, in all fairness, I seriously doubt that in 1913 when the amendment was first established the legislators could have perceived the immensity of today’s government. I do believe they knew it would grow exponentially, but not ballooned, exploded if you will, to such an unnecessary extent.

The article was written by Gary M. Galles (a Pepperdine Univ. Economics Professor) and is found in the Opinion section of Thursday’s, April 10th edition of the Orange County Register. HERE is the link;

Here is what the article revolves around. The 16th Amendment states as found on the Cornell Univ. Law School site;

The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes on incomes, from whatever source derived, without apportionment among the several states, and without regard to any census or enumeration.”

The most important part of the amendment? “..without apportionment..” That essentially means, not only can they TAKE the money, but they can spend it however THEY wish.

……..??? It seems Frank Chodorov got it dead right in his book he wrote back in 1953 when he said, “The government says …’Your earnings are not exclusively your own; we have a claim on them, and our claim precedes yours … whatever we grant you for yourself is for us to decide.” You can find more about his book HERE;

All this is the gist of Galles article. Galles writes, “After struggling with forms and documentation, you pay more than reason would dictate to support policies you often oppose and finance politicians’ bribes to buy others’ votes.”

How often are we seeing our tax dollars going to causes, that go against the wishes of the people? Depending on which poll you go by, upwards of 70% of Americans are against most forms of abortion. Yet, last year, Planned Genocide not only made a $125 million profit, but accepted over $175 million in tax payer funding. And they actually have the nerve to ask for three times that, this year.

A serious review of the 16th Amendment needs to be established, to match today’s circumstances. The income tax can, and should, be abolished as it serves no purpose other than to become a increasingly deepening piggy bank for the government. America’s infrastructure, military, and “General Welfare,” can be provided for with a simple 19%-23% flat tax… period.

No more need for this-tax and that-tax. No more need for the IRS. Chodorov said it best, “The independence of the people is in direct proportion to the amount of their wealth they can enjoy. We cannot restore traditional American freedom unless we limit the government’s power to tax.

Time to start “LIMITING” taxation my fellow Americans.
