Obama Owns His Blog’s Hate Speech

Krisqi offers what is probably Obama’s best defense against the latest scandal to afflict his campaign: anti-Semitic hate speech, pages from hate groups (New Black Panther Party), denial of Israel’s legitimacy, and 9/11 conspiracy theories at my.barackobama.com. We will show our readers why this defense, even though it is the best that can be offered on Obama’s defense, should collapse very quickly.

With the thousands of posts that Obama’s website receives, there is no way that all can be moderated. These are personal opinions and do not reflect the candidates view. And, as it seems like my.barackobama.com fascinates you soooooo much, why don’t you READ HIS policy on Israel and Palestine. It’s there, too. Or do you just read things that further your own stance, like all ignorant people?

Theuniversal adds a similar argument, “It’s impossible for the Obama campaign staff to comb through every post to ensure every idea and phrase fits Obama’s views. If they had to do that, they’d just get rid of the blogs.”

  1. Every posting at my.barackobama.com has a link for reporting objectionable material. Either no one else who reads these posts (in this case, one that implies that terrorism is “justified”) finds them objectionable or, if they do report them, Obama’s moderators consider them acceptable. In addition, it is on record that Tony Wicher’s material has in fact been reported to the site’s administrators, as shown by the screen shot below.
  2. We are quite conversant with the concept of the agent provacateur, and we entertained the possibility that a malicious third party (Clinton operative or misguided Republican) posted hate speech at Obama’s site to make Obama look bad. Mr. Wicher’s profile, however, is easily within the top tenth percentile of activity and participation as shown by his point count. He has been blogging at my.barackobama.com for more than a year, so he is obviously not some fly by night operator who dropped in to slime Obama’s site in a hit and run operation. The same applies to other bloggers who have posted equally repulsive material.
  3. Re: “It’s impossible for the Obama campaign staff to comb through every post to ensure every idea and phrase fits Obama’s views,” we had no difficulty whatsoever in finding the hate speech and 9/11 conspiracy theories and, unlike Obama’s staff, we don’t get paid to look for it.
  4. We must also ask whether the hate speech and conspiracy theories are in character or out of character with Obama’s behavior. The fact that Obama refused to “reject” Louis Farrakhan’s endorsement until forced to do so suggests that they are in character. Obama’s long term membership in a church that promoted similar material, including blood libels of both Israel and the United States while welcoming a guest opinion piece from a Hamas terrorist is consistent as opposed to inconsistent with the hate speech and conspiracy theories. Mr. Wicher’s apparent denial of Israel’s right to exist as a Jewish state is entirely consistent with Jeremiah Wright’s “state” of Israel remark, as in “so-called state of Israel.”

Let’s begin with Tony Wicher’s piece that suggests that Islamic supremacist terrorism against the United States and Israel is “justified.”

The treatment of the Palestinians by Israelis is the number one cause and justification for terrorism. As long as it goes on the terrorists can justly claim moral equivalence. As long as the United States continues with its current unqualified support of Israel and Israeli apartheid, it makes itself the object of terrorism as well. This must stop. Only the United States can make Israel do the right thing. The next U.S. administration must understand that this is the key to Middle East peace and to defeating terrorism.

First, this was posted in February 2007, more than a year ago. It is not a hit and run smear job by an agent provacateur.

Second, the following screen shot places Mr. Wicher in at least the top decile of participation (noting that the New Black Panther Party page, with somewhat under 400 points, was in 14009 place).

Third, the administrators are almost certainly aware of Mr. Wicher’s so-called Blog for Peace. (We think “Blog for Hamas” or “Blog for the International Solidarity Movement” would be a better description, but, whatever.)

Proof that Obama's campaign is aware of Mr. Wicher's material

The fact that this material is welcome at my.barackobama.com until an Internet-wide scandal compels its removal (such as the New Black Panther Party and “Able from Chicago” pages shown below–and the NBPP page was not some fly-by-night posting either, as shown by its point count) is entirely consistent with Obama’s reluctance to distance himself from racists, anti-Semites, and/or Catholic-hating bigots like Jeremiah Wright, Louis Farrakhan, Al Sharpton, and MoveOn.org.

Here is the profile of “Blazing Star,” who posted a 9/11 conspiracy theory that would not even be welcome at the Daily Kos. Again, note the point count. These are not fly by night agents provacateur, these are my.barackobama.com regulars and even leaders. Note the “Israel = Apartheid” smear from the Free Palestine page.

Next we have Anna Hussein (any relation to Saddam?) and her blood libel of Israel (false accusation that Israel “murdered” peace activist Rachel Corrie).

Blood libel of Israel

Also note that Anna Hussin’s point count puts her in 411th place (vs. 14000-plus for the New Black Panther Party) which puts her in the top three percent of my.barackobama.com participants.

Kris commented here as follows, and he is not helping Obama’s case in the least:

As much as you don’t like the idea, personally, there is a world view, shared by millions of people, that the US is a terrorist group in itself, THE LARGEST ONE, and is directly responsible for inciting Islamic terrorist activity, including 9/11. Al Quaeda is a response to US hegemony and provocation. Period. Yes, the chickens eventually had to come home to roost.

This is entirely consistent with Jeremiah Wright’s “God ()&#&! America,” Tony Wicher’s so-called Blog for Peace, Anna Hussein (any relation to Saddam?), Able from Chicago, and so on. People who share these views, such as the United States “deserved” 9/11, or that the people who burned to death in the Twin Towers were “little Eichmanns” (per Ward Churchill) who deserved it, should indeed vote for Obama. The rest of us will vote for John McCain, which means Obama may well get no electoral votes whatsoever this November.

Meanwhile, our advice to the Democratic Party is as follows: you voted for Obama before you discovered that he is “damaged goods.” Just as you have a right to ask for your money back after you discover that you have been sold defective merchandise, you have the right to demand that Obama drop out of the contest right now in favor of Hillary Clinton. She will probably lose the election because Obama’s supporters will squeal “racism!” (exactly what Obama’s cohorts like Jeremiah Wright and Al Sharpton practice routinely) and stay home, but she is about all you have left.
