Mike Huckabee’s opening statement drew a round of applause when he began with a quote from the Bible. Ecclesiastes 10:2:
The heart of the wise inclines to the right, but the heart of the fool to the left. (NIV)
Huckabee said that the reason America is a great nation is because it is a special nation, and the reason it is a special nation is is that it was founded by people on their knees, and that America is still a special nation. Regarding the fact that according to the numbers his chances of winning the election didn’t seem realistic, he said:
I didn’t major in math, I majored in miracles, and I stil l believe in those, too.
Mike Huckabee, live at CPAC (amidst chants of “We like Mike! We like Mike!”):
It’s better to be right, and even not to win, than it is to be wrong and be part of the (me, too) crowd…when it is right, (conservatives) will keep it right; when it is wrong, we will make it right.
He’s still planning to nail the going-out-of-business sign on the door of the IRS.
