McCain Tuesday Upset: We Can Only Hope

With Super-Tuesday here, Republicans have an opportunity to speak up about the issue that most plagues America, illegal immigration. McCain has some descent stances for a platform, but immigration is not one of them. Huckabee and Romney both have better stances on this topic, that being NO AMNESTY for illegals. McCain does not have a great record regarding immigration, especially with the recent defeat of his McCain-Kennedy Amnesty legislation.

“Immigration is in fact, the biggest issue facing America today.” That’s a quote from a talk show host I heard a few minutes of the other day. I can not be specific, but I believe it was Kevin James on KRLA 870 AM in the Los Angeles area. (If anyone can confirm this, please leave it in the comments.) But I might be incorrect on that, as I’ve been listening to and reading a lot of data over the last few months.

But whomever spoke those words, was more accurate and on target than most people realise. The majority of the problems faced by America today, can be resolved with a much more firm stance against illegal immigration. Simply enforcing the laws in place would have astounding effects. McCain claims to have “heard the people,” when he eventually had to withdraw his amnesty plan in defeat. I doubt that. That legislation was trumped because huge numbers of LEGAL Americans said “Hell no!” Not because of any change in McCain’s or Kennedy’s party platforms

On a more positive note, John Zogby, of Zogby International, (the polling guys) believes there is in fact a high probability of a McCain upset this Super-Tuesday in California. In a video/audio interview on NewsMax.com, Zogby lays out some good info on his reasons for this. Zogby also gave a bit of insight into some other factors regarding the next couple days worth of politics. You can watch the video HERE.

In closing, a vote for McCain would essentially be the stepping stone for the 25-30 million illegals in America (I don’t buy the B.S. that there’s only 12 million here) being granted amnesty, and the beginning of a much more serious nose dive in an already shaky economy. Republicans face a dire situation, with no clear cut prospect for a presidential candidate, as Fred Thompson has dropped out, and Duncan Hunter not having the following or funding needed. Whom are we left to chose from?

Whomever we pick this Tuesday, hopefully McCain ISN’T it.
