My Name is Temerity.
My Grandfather told me when I was in my mother’s womb; my mother was in a terrible car accident. She held on just long enough for me to be born. The last thing my mother said was “name her temerity” my grandfather told me. I guess I had a terrible fight on my hands when I was born. But I fought for life and the gift my mother gifted me with. My grandfather said my name was fitting. I had more temerity then anyone had ever seen.
My Grandfather and blessed Grandmother took me and grew me up right. I never knew my mother and missed her bad but Grandfather and Grandmother told me all about her. I feel like I know her as well as any daughter knows her mother. I feel her watching me from heaven and I will not let her down for the gift of life she gave me. Sometimes temerity is essential to living. And my name is Temerity.
In school, one day a bully was picking on one of my friends whose parents had just divorced. He was not taking it well and the bully was taking advantage of his frail state. Every day the bully picked on my friend. This day the bully grabbed my friend and had him on the ground and was beating him bad. I could not stand it anymore. I just walked up to the bully and popped him square between his eyes. I broke his nose and made him cry. I was suspended. My grandmother was awful cross until she caught grandfather giggling. “Her name is Temerity, ma” was all he said as my grandmother cracked the first smile I had seen that day on her beautiful face. “I did not mean to hurt him, grandmother” I said. “I know” she said as she took me in her blessed arms. “Your mother, she was so right in calling you Temerity” she whispered in my ear. I repeated to myself, “My name is Temerity.”
Grandfather went to heaven on Christmas day when I was seventeen. Grandmother was about to join him that Fourth of July. I thought I did not have a tear left in me as I sat alongside her bed and kept a cold cloth on her pretty brow. She whispered to me, “Temerity, my little girl, I am going to be with Pa. I hate to leave you behind but I know you will be fine. You’re a good girl and you were brought up right. Just remember the gift of life your blessed mother gave you. Remember to lean on your faith, protect your freedom and hold fast to your liberty. “She gasped and added, “Remember, your name is Temerity.” As Grandmother passed through the veil and joined Grandfather I repeated what she said to reassure them and myself, “My name is Temerity.”
Times were hard after I was on my own. Surely I was still surrounded by good friends and family but it was up to me to find my way and calling in this gift of life. I found a good boy, a man that Grandfather would have been proud of. We worked hard. I was gifted with children of my own. Each one a gift and precious joy entrusted to us. Life was good. I brought up those blessings the right way my grandfather and grandmother did for me. We sacrificed and loved. In those happy trying days, I had to remind myself that my blessed mother had named me. I would tell my husband when he held me close after a long hard exhausting day, my name is Temerity.
I only forgot my name once in all my long blessed life. The children were at school and a friend of my husband showed up at the door with his hat in hand. I was busy with this task and that. I did not see him right away but when I did, my world crashed within me. My darling husband working three jobs to keep us out of debt had a terrible accident. He left me and the children and I did not have anyone that could remind me of my name. I was cold and angry. I forgot my name and felt sorry for myself. The children came home and found me curled up in our bed. I had been crying so much there was no more tears. The children called for me. They came and reminded me that I could not feel sorry for myself no more. They were gifted to me and bless their hearts, their kisses and tears reminded me. My name is Temerity.
I rested upon my faith. I watched those gifted to me grow up right, smart and strong. Soon they found their own way and blessed me with grandchildren of my own. I never found another love like my departed husband. My blessings were abundant and I enjoyed watching them find their own temerity. They worked hard and loved abundantly. My mother, grandfather, grandmother and their daddy must be watching with pride as their gift of life is poured out in our children’s children. It is so nice to witness my name embodied in those entrusted to me. I taught each child and grandchild my name, for my name is Temerity.
Today, I am old and hearing my lover call me from beyond the veil. He is waiting there by the river for me. I see him in my dreams. My mother stands just over his shoulder hand in hand with my grandmother and grandfather with his hand on my lover. They are singing old songs calling me home. But, I have one a task to do before I let go and join them. My children’s children are being threatened with a stinking thinking that I have to do something about. I have raised my family to love their God and their country but this stinking thinking has infected and infested this country. Remember, My name is Temerity.
You see, in this life we are never promised tomorrow. Bad things happen and our Freedom and Liberty have to be fought for in every decision we make. Even in this great country a free man can sell his Freedom and liberty for something as foolish as hope and change. Hope is given by God and change is the only thing we can count on. It seems like today everyone is looking for a hand out instead of having the pride of only seeking a hand up. It saddens me that I am not young enough to punch these bullies’s right between the eyes and set them straight. After all, my name is Temerity.
I am now 96 and on my death bed. I have lived the American dream and I have been given the gift of life, Freedom and Liberty. I want to now gift you with a precious gift I was gifted with. From now on when the bullies of this socialist squirrel stinking thinking threaten you or your backyard, I want you to act as I would. I want you rest on your faith, and chase those silly socialist squirrels right out of your backyard. I want you to be vigilant never doubting your sacrifice and never back down from a little hard work. I want to gift you with something so special that my blessed mother gifted it to me. Whisper it. Say it out loud. Shout it from your backyard. Scream it all the way to Washington. I am gifting you with my name. My name is Temerity.

Another Great opportunity for you to share and unite your Conservative grassroots Thought, Voice and Image across this Blessed Nation!
2010 is the year when we as the Conservative Grassroots are going to out produce our opposition. Sure our opposition is wrong and they are only tyrants and corrupt, but I am a firm believer in action and production. If we out produce the opposition and remind America to Come On Home America! to our values and ideals, then victory is assured.
