AARP is a wolf in sheep’s clothing. They are no friend to the elderly. This is an organization, along with the AMA, that does not represent it’s members but rather feeds, like vultures, upon their pocketbooks. I always have a good laugh when I receive the AARP magazine because either they have someone in the 55 year old time zone looking great or a woman who must have been best friends with Gloria Swanson – dressed in taffeta for an Inaugural Ball – looking much like she’d been dipped in formaldehyde and shot through pink filters to make her look younger.
Another ploy AARP uses is to periodically send out letters to their clients that are worded in such a way as to suggest that if their clients don’t renew their subscription – their insurance policy will be dropped. This is bad marketing at it’s worst – because their insurance policy has nothing to do with the AARP money machine magazine.
Sadly, this magazine could have been an inspiration to many seniors 60 on up who could happily live out their life in a productive way. My own mother took daily walks and worked in her flower garden until she passed away four months shy of 100. While many seniors do suffer diseases that prohibit this type activity – still there is always a way to contribute to ones own sense of well being – as well as to others less fortunate.
I have an aged friend who worked for the Indian Red Cross and with Mother Theresa. She now lives in this country and, at the ripe age of 90, she does volunteer work three days a week in run down old folks homes.
Last week, I was watching the news and listened to a reporter interviewing a woman who is the manager of her son’s business, does the payroll – in short, she runs the office. The reporter asked, “Well, how does it feel to be 100 year old?” She replied, “I don’t know, I’m too busy to think about it.” So rather than encourage seniors to lead productive & active lives – they do quite the opposite. AARP is about one thing and that making money for themselves. This is why they have backed the Obama Health Care Plan which will not bode well for the aged.
For instance, they push their life insurance policies on seniors that are underwritten by New York Life. The annual premium increases also reach a point where the old folks can no longer afford it. Even it they do want to continue, the cost is so prohibitive, only Warren Buffet could afford. So who winds up with a windfall of cash? Who else? New York Life and AARP laughing all the way to the bank – leaving the old folks with nothing. It was just a plan to put money in their coffers at the expense of naïve seniors. The original intent of AARP was to be an advocate for the aged but those days have long since passed. They increase their annual coverage by the exact amount given to social security checks. For example, if a senior gets a $40 cost of living increase, the same amount of money is assessed by AARP for their insurance coverage. AARP is a giant money making machine disquised as an advocacy group for the aged. Well, with friends like that – who needs enemies. They stopped being the mouthpiece for seniors long ago. The truth is that 95% of all funds collected are going to the DNC to continue political activities of their research branch – under the guise of helping the aged.
The new CEO of AARP is Barry Rand who contributed $8,900 to Barack Obama’s campaign. He has consistently backed fund raising campaigns supporting black candidates – himself an Afro American.
Yep! AARP is enough to make an intelligent person B -A-R-F.

There are very few organizations that were originally intended to “help” their members that have not instead fallen to either corruption or the spell of bigger socialist style government. The AARP is just another of these.

This is what is so scary. When I think about the institution I want to leave behind after we are dead and gone, the E. W. Everson Institute. Although I have the best intentions of this institution carrying on what we are doing today, what guarantee will any of us have that it will not be taken over by the corruption of Socialist Squirrel infestation?
Now I think the AARP was always meant to be evil and prey on our elderly. This is the MO of these Silly Socialist Squirrels.
But the risk to our institutions that were meant for good can often be infested and driven to evil. Like they say you can’t take it with you, so we have to do all we can while we are still alive and kicking!
Get Grizzly!

I once knew the name of a conservative senior group. It may be The American Conservative Union, but I’m not sure.
We desperately need a conservative lobbying organization for Seniors, but it would get little time in our Democrat Capitol Hill.

I agree Maggie! But it like everything is a numbers game! If we have the numbers they can not help but hear us!
