I believe that absolute power corrupts absolutely and the truth be known our congress essentially has absolute power. That is why they manipulate tax code and budgetary items to favor one group over another an not do what is right for America as a whole. We need term limits as well as other things to keep them from having so much power. The power should return to its rightful owners the people. There is a book that details this called: Prescription for Saving the United States.

Like I always say, Socialism walks hand in hand with Tyranny and Corruption!

We have a ton of work to do!

Tammi and Perri thanks for your comments. We must take a stand to ward of these attacks on our liberties. Agreed that simply voting them out will not solve the problem. We must elect candidates who understand their role and function in defending and upholding the Constitution. They we have to keep an eye on them to make sure they follow through.

It's also our own fault. We can do something about it - but it requires a lot more involvement than simply pointing the facts out.

We have to start winning elections - and not by electing the same corrupted people that we've been putting into office over and over again.

We can't just throw the bums out - we've got to keep them off the ballot. Defeat them in the primaries by putting truly conservative candidates that will respect the Constitution into place.

We need to do this at the local level first - put in conservative candidates that will respect our state Constitutions - and the federal one as well - especially the tenth amendment. These people will eventually step up to the federal level.

It took 222 years to get to the place where we are. Hopefully by diligence and cunning we can get out of it faster.

Nice post Keith. I agree, we have most definitely met the point where are representatives no longer represent us, but instead desire to enslave us. It's disgusting and criminal.
